Senior Pastor and Team Leader: Rev Ian Bell Ian Bell became Senior Pastor of Romford Baptist Church in 2002, having previously been the Pastor of Mildenhall Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was born in County Durham and became a Christian at a Billy Graham rally in 1967. He was educated at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh; Regents Park College, Oxford and Westminster College, Cambridge. He is married to Janice, and they have two children. Their son, Richard, is married to Amy and lives in Derby, with their son, Isaac, while their daughter, Laura, is married to Joe Benn and they live in Mildenhall, Suffolk. Team Pastor (Youth and Children): Rev Jan Loveard Jan became our Youth Pastor in 2006 and is a fully accredited Youth Specialist Minister for the Baptist Union of Great Britain. She grew up in this church and worked for London City Mission before studying at Moorlands Bible College. She was Youth Pastor at Christchurch Baptist Church, Dorset, then served God with the Africa Inland Mission in Tanzania for a number of years. After returning to this country to train and qualify as an Occupational Therapist, she felt God's call back into the ministry and now leads a team responsible for all the youth and children's work at RBC. Team Pastor (Pastoral Care): Rev Michael McKenzie Michael has been working at RBC part-time since July 2010. Born in Jamaica, he made a commitment to follow Christ when he was 8. Michael trained for Baptist Ministry at Spurgeon's College. After graduating, he became pastor to the Ashley and Tiptoe Baptist churches. He is a trained Probation Officer and social worker and was Prison Chaplain at the Vancouver Pre trial Services centre, Canada. He returned to the UK as a Primary Mental Health Worker in the NHS. He is married to Beverley, they have two children; Arianna, and Chaeli. Team Pastor: Peter Timothy Pete is our Minister-in-Training, currently studying at Regent's Park College, Oxford. After spending a year as a Ministerial Intern at RBC, he felt God's calling to ministry and began his new role in September 2011. He divides his time between studying at Oxford and working at church, and has been a member at RBC for 10 years. He graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and is a trained journalist with experience in the newspaper and radio industry. His main area of responsibility is among the 20s/30s at church and is always on the hunt for new recruits to the church football team!
